Milenio• Minervino Moran, spokesman for the State Coordinating Committee of Education Workers of Guerrero, said the demonstrations [sacking and burning the offices of several political parties] this afternoon in Chilpancingo are an extreme reaction to the decision taken by the Congress [which yesterday passed an education law that did not meet their demands].

In an interview with Milenio, the teachers' leader said they support the action taken this afternoon at the headquarters of the political parties, as there is much indignation among the teachers over the decision made by the local Congress, "making fun" of them.

Moran said the movement's leadership supports the actions taken, and they are backed by the group's state assembly and the whole movement.

The spokesman indicated that teachers gave a sample of reaction to the aggressive policies being imposed and therefore such actions are being carried out against the parties, because they voted against the Peoples Movement of Guerrero.
"In fact, little or nothing can be expected of the elected political parties, since they have passed laws that are not for the people, and for that reason those parties, which are, themselves, in crisis and in the midst of corruption, don't deserve our trust."
He said the movement can go to varying lengths, depending on the solution to the teacher problem in Guerrero, they can continue escalating the levels of mobilization and pressure, but it all depends on the government of Guerrero and the Congress.

He added that the teachers do not seek to destabilize the state, or "overthrow" the governor, Angel Aguirre Rivero. Spanish original
