Chilpancingo, Guerrero • The First Criminal Court, based in Chilpancingo, issued an indictment against four members of the dissident teachers group. It released them on bail, as the crimes of which they are accused are not considered grave. ... The First Criminal Judge, Leoncio Molina Mercado, issued indictments against teachers Genaro Guevara Hernandez, Mauro Lázaro García, José Lucas Juarez Tlatempla and Cesareo Rosendo Feliciano.
The four were arrested on May 6 in the capital of Guerrero by members of the state ministerial [investigative] police. They were sent to federal prisons, two to Veracruz and two to Nayarit. They only remained in prison for 12 hours, as the federal Secretariat of the Government Relations and the National Coordinating Committee of Education Workers (CNTE) negotiated their release.
The four are charged for actions at a sit-in at the State Secretariat of Education, not for the violence that occurred in the state offices of PRI, PRD, PAN and Citizen Movement political parties. Only PAN and PRI have filed a criminal complaint for damages. ...
Dialogue Resumes
The state government yesterday resumed dialogue with the teachers of the State Coordinating Committee of Education Workers of Guerrero, whose leadership said they would continue their work stoppage and sit-in this city. The meeting was held at the premises of the Secretary General of Government and led by the head of the Secretariat of Education of Guerrero, Silvia Romero Suárez, who said she has revived the dialogue with the dissident teachers in order to seek important agreements.
