Mexico: Arrested Dissident Guerrero Teachers Are Released

Guerrero • The State Coordinating Committee of Education Workers of Guerrero (CETEG) announced the release of the four teachers arrested earlier today and said their protests will continue.

In a press conference, members of the Negotiating Committee of the Popular Movement of Guerrero presented Genaro Guevara and Lucas Juárez, who had been arrested and sent for a few hours to a federal prison in Nayarit, and they assured that the other two who had been sent to Veracruz were also released.

They also said that the only recognized agency they will negotiate with is the federal government, and they denied that there is any agreement to lift their encampment and suspend the work stoppage. Spanish original
