Mexico Dissident Teachers Declare They Will Continue Protests to Stop State's Education Reform

Milenio.com:

Chilpancingo, Guerrero - The State Coordinating Committee of Education Workers of Guerrero [CETEG] warned that their protests will continue until the local Congress approves the amendments proposed to the state education law and stated that it is no longer just a teacher's movement but one of the people.
"We will be calling el pueblo [the people] to establish a Guerrero people's assembly with representation by parents, community police, civic and popular [groups], social, organizations, democratic media and democratic and progressive people for them to take the direction of this movement in their hands," said  CETEG spokesman, Minervino Morán.
During the meeting that took place in the Zócalo plaza of Chilpancingo, Morán said Ángel Aguirre's government is "on the line" because
"it isn't able to solve the great social problems of insecurity, injustice, poverty, unemployment, let alone that of education."
The CETEG accused the governor of being a repressor, to whom they said that
"the people are not willing to accept any more reform that affects the rights of the people, of the workers."
Teachers said they are convinced of their struggle and that they are right and have justice on their side. They recalled that yesterday in the Casa Guerrero [governor's offices] they made a last call to  Aguirre to resolve the teacher conflict.

During their time in the Zócalo of Chilpancingo, the teachers painted slogans on the walls of the City Hall and threw eggs.

... During the march, the teachers tried to enter the auditorium "Sentiments of the Nation", in which the inauguration of the new rector of the Autonomous University of Guerrero was taking place, and demanded the departure of the state governor, Ángel Aguirre, who not was at the event.
