The three new arrest warrants served on Nestora Salgado (for kidnapping and murder) involve felonious behaviors that do not allow bail. However, they are supported by very flimsy evidence, so it is likely that within 72 hours, which will begin on Thursday [3/10/2016], the order of release for the leader of Community Police in Olinalá, Guerrero, will be handed down, reported her lawyer, César Sandino.
In an interview with La Jornada, Sandino added that the hearing for Nestora's preliminary statement will be on Thursday, once the formal requests sent by three judges in Guerrero are received by a magistrate [Appellate Court level] in Mexico City.
Sandino explained that Nestora Salgado was in another city located 150 kilometers [93 miles] at the day and hour that the murder was committed of which she is accused.
''We are waiting for the formal requests to arrive so she can make her preliminary statement, which will probably be on Thursday; then the [Mexico City magistrate] will return the communications to the three judges.
''They will define Sra. Salgado's legal situation, and that will be happening on Tuesday of next week. But the arrest warrants have already been served,'' he pointed out.
The lawyer added that these three new arrest warrants are for kidnapping (issued by a judge in Ayutla, Guerrero), theft, illegal deprivation of liberty and murder (issued by judge in Tlapa, Guerrero).
''With regard to the murder charge, they are charging her with being the mastermind. Although it sounds more shocking, because we are talking about a homicide, it is the crime of which there is the least evidence, because the day of the incident she was in a meeting at noon at the Government House in Chilpancingo, and at 2:00 p.m., she was giving a press conference in Tixtla, which is about three hours [by road] from where the events took place.''
