"Anarchists" on October 2 Poto: Miguel Dimayuga |
Proceso: In a statement of solidarity by the self-named "Coordinating Committee of the Shadows", anarchist groups expressed their support for rebellion and called for not abandoning the streets.
A letter entitled "Mexico: Against All Hope" , signed by three anarchists cells, the Autonomous Cells of Immediate Revolution-Praxedis G. Guerrero (CARI-PGG), the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire of the Informal Anarchist Federation (CCF-FAI)-Mexico and the Mariano Sánchez Anon Insurrectional Cell of the Informal Anarchist Federation (CI-MSA/FAI), which was broadcast on the web network ContraInfo, announced a new season of "anti-systemic" confrontations.
"Street fighting is back to stay and is listed again on our agenda to extend the 'winter of subversion'," says the message.
"We left the streets to devote ourselves passionately to the tasks of the night, counting on the complicity of the moon, the sound of gunpowder and the hot companionship of the liberating fire", making reference to street graffiti and violent actions against banks and ATMs.It attributes the uprising of anarchism to an "expansion of anarchic insurrection":
"That was the only reason that led us make an appointment in the streets on December 1, the only reason invited us to fight on the asphalt on September 1 and insisted that we be with you, in the midst of a sea of anti-authoritarians rebels (unknown to us but accomplices) on October 2, not to just 'light candles' and march in fear, like lambs, but to ignite the barricades and burn the shits in uniform" (sic).Refugees in the underground of the Internet, the anarchists seek dialogue with supporters around the country and the world and to take up the screams of the riots in Greece during 2008:
"We have no illusions. We have no hope. So we're dangerous. We have no illusions that they will take all this into account. Every day they bury our cries in their lies. Goodbye. You will see us from your couches on your televisions. History, here we go. Look up towards the sky ... "Regarding current protest movements--from New York to London, Athens, Rio de Janeiro, Madrid and Rome--they affirm:
"Today anarchic insurrection is everywhere and in every corner of the planet it germinates and blossoms, standing up to the Authority from Chile to Canada, from Mexico to Indonesia. Today street fighting returns to give battle to the Power and burst the cowardly limits of reformism, break down the limited ways of the left and break the chains of bland pacifism."The text calls for
"caution" in "tasks of the night" and "street fighting". "It is important to sharpen precautions in the midst of voluntary servitude," it says. And it establishes a mystique about being hooded:
"Covering our face at the moment of attack certainly does not imply any ideological position. By covering our faces in an action, we also lay claim to the bandit anarchist and the outlaw resistant to all authority. The hood is more than the red bandanna that covers us; it is much more than the faded Palestinian scarf that is worn in fashion poses or, even more, the tattered balaclava that conceals the revolutionary farce and the trivial pyrotechnics. The anarchic hood goes beyond aesthetics; it stands for an anti-authoritarian consciousness that has ended the spectacle and given the deserved coup de grace to the fictitious fight."The anarchists end their message with the following slogans:
"Not one millimeter backwards: 9 mm in the heads of power!" - "Let the hooded ones speak!" - "Long live the informal groups of anarchic action!" - "We take back resistant street fighting, but don't forget the tasks that illuminate the night!" - "Let the fight extend to every corner!" - "Long live the liberating fire and the vindicating gunpowder!"Spanish original
