Mexico City: Last Seven Arrested for June 10 Riot Are Freed

Last seven detainees from June 10 Mexico City riot freed on bail
Aristegui Noticias: The seven people who remained in custody in the East Prison for the June 10 riot in Mexico City's Zocalo [central plaza] were released on bail while criminal proceedings against them continue.

The seven are Diego Mora Cardoso, Fredy Rosete Arispe, Diego Jacob Rodríguez Lara, Carlos Esteban Jiménez Martínez, Jorge Alejandro Velázquez Picaso, Carlos Vázquez Martínez and Luis Barrera Fuentes, who were accused of the crimes of insults to authority in a gang, damage to property and attacks on the public peace. They left the prison on Monday afternoon.

Family and friends greeted the young people outside the Eastern Prison, where they had installed a "camp" since last Wednesday when the men were transferred to the prison.

Before Judge Manuel Rangel Preciado, defense lawyers paid 28,700 pesos [USD$2,230] in bail for each detainee to enable them to go free. Spanish original
