Teachers of the State Coordinating Committee of Education Workers of the State of Guerrero (CETEG) and self-defense groups announced that they will form the Popular Movement of Guerrero. They added that they would maintain the teacher protests against the education reform and that they are not going to keep Governor Ángel Aguirre as their negotiating partner, stated Minervino Morán, CETEG's spokesperson.

The newspaper Reforma reported that the State Assembly of Guerrero teachers received the support of the Regional Coordinating Authorities (CRAC), and they agreed that the movement now has a social and popular character as now it is not only demanding that the Government resolve the teacher demands.

The daily newspaper Excelsior reported that the promoter of the CRAC, Gonzalo Molina, warned that today civilians would arrive in Chilpancingo
"uniformed and armed to demonstrate to the federal and municipal government that community police exist there."
They announced the march for "Dignity and Popular Unity" to be held on Wednesday, April 10.
